Read the protection information

The AAD recommends broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection, an SPF of at least 30, and water resistance. SPF alone does not describe every aspect of a product. Also check its intended use, precautions, and stated duration of water resistance.

Your skin tone does not remove the need for protection. Choosing a texture or tint can make a product more comfortable to use, without changing the protection requirements.

Understanding the European UVA symbol

When present on the packaging, the standardized UVA logo indicates that the product meets the minimum UVA protection level recommended by the European Commission. It complements the SPF, which alone does not cover the full range of UV radiation.

A logo or rating never promises total protection. Keep the application instructions for the variant you bought, its water resistance, and other protective steps at the center of your decision.

Think about application, not just the bottle

AAD recommendations include applying before sun exposure and reapplying about every two hours outdoors, as well as after swimming or sweating as directed on the label. Sunscreen complements seeking shade and wearing protective clothing.

To plan your day, identify when you will be outdoors and how you will keep the product within reach. A morning routine alone does not cover every need of a day spent outside.

Make room for tolerance

A sunscreen can feel pleasant in one area and uncomfortable near the eyes. Follow the application areas specified by the manufacturer and stop if a reaction occurs. If your skin is particularly reactive, seek advice on choosing a suitable formula.

In your journal, note the texture, finish, and comfort of use. Avoid turning these preferences into judgments about your skin's color or quality.

The role of sunscreen in the Poiréa selection

Sun protection is one of the catalog's categories. Answers about marks and a desire for a more even skin tone may move it higher in the ranking. This is not a promise to erase a spot.

The service links to a specific product and explains its role in the routine. Before buying, check the seller, variant, and current information. The engine's rules remain available on the Method page.

KEEP IN MIND
  • Check SPF, the UVA symbol if present on the packaging, and water resistance.
  • Plan reapplication around your activities.
  • Combine sunscreen with shade and protective clothing.

Protection involves several steps. The right product needs to fit into that combination.
